Gentry board positions open

Wednesday, June 29, 2011

— All positions on the Gentry School Board will be up for reelection at the Sept. 20 annual school election due to the existing school board members choosing to comply with rezoning laws in advance of the September 2012 deadline.

The Gentry School District has five electoral zones and two additional members to be elected atlarge, with a total of seven positions to be filled.

Petitions may be picked up at the Gentry superintendent’s office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. until noon on Fridays. Petitions and instructions will beavailable at the administrative office through Friday, July 15, and may also be picked up in person at the Benton County Clerk’s office during regular office hours. The information is available for download from the district’s or county's websites.

Because some zone boundaries have changed, interested parties should verify which zone they are wishing to represent. This does not apply to the two open at-large positions.

Verification of residence may be done by calling the County Clerk’s Office at 271-1013 and providing a 911 address. A map of the new zones is also available for inspection at the superintendent’s office.
