Public hearing set for possible Walmart construction plat

— The Gravette Planning Commission will hold a public hearing March 14 to discuss a preliminary construction plat for property located at 800 First Avenue SE and 109 Galveston SE.

Though Walmart has not confirmed it, Aaron Cooper of Henderson Engineers in Lowell filed for three permits Jan. 12 for a “retail store” in Prairie Grove, Gentry andGravette, tying the site to locations in Gentry and Prairie Grove where small Walmart stores are to be built.

The hearing will be at 6 p.m. at Gravette City Hall, 604 First Avenue SE, according to Commission Chairman Mike von Ree.

The property location involved is the site of the old Gravette Medical Center Hospital.

“All interested parties are urged to attend,” von Ree said.
