— Pea Ridge proved themselves too much for the Gentry Pioneers on the baseball diamond Friday, coming away with an 18-7 victory in the non-conference game.

Pea Ridge picked up five runs in the first, another three in the second andtwo in the top of the third before Gentry finally rallied to put three runs on the score sheet in the bottom of the third inning. Pea Ridge answered with another five across the plate in the top of the fourth, with Gentry bringing another three across in the bottom of the inning.

The Pioneers scored only one more run, in the fifth,with Pea Ridge picking up another three in the last two innings.

Gentry’s runs were scored by Justin Stewart, Gage Stanfill, Tanner Coy, Dustin Torres and Trae Wilkins. Chris Wiand, Cody Taylor, Gunter DeZurik, Trae Wilkins and Josh Sewell batted runs in.

The Pioneers play Farmington at home on Friday. Game time is 4:30 p.m.
