GRAVETTE — Gravette High School senior Daniel Poemoceah was recently named an Arkansas All-State Band member as a result of tryouts held February 14 in Conway.

To be selected for All-State Band students must compete against the top band students from each region of the state regardless of school size. The tryout involves sightreading music, playing selected scales and performing prepared music.

The students named to All-State participated in a two-day clinic which culminated in concerts held February 19 at the Hot Springs Convention Center.

“Daniel, who is the son of Dr. Marcus and Ruth Poemoceah, is to be congratulated for representing Gravette High School and being named one of the top high school musicians in the state,” said band director Mike Johnson.
