— The Greater Gravette Chamber of Commerce and the city of Gravette announced a preliminary list of activities for a greatly expanded Gravette Day this year. Instead of Saturday only, activities will be held three days, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 11, 12 and 13.

By coordinating the efforts of the Chamber and the city of Gravette, the usual Saturday festivities will feature many new events, with activities planned Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Besides the usual beauty pageant, cycle poker run, pancake breakfast and parade, the following events are being planned: an archery competition, arts and crafts, dancing, turkey shoot, firemen’s muster, 5K run, money drop, musical entertainment, sports and classic car shows and singing competition.

“There will be food, food, food,” according to Ken Foxx, and Damon Wallace, speaking for the Chamber, who added, “Gravette area citizens and alumni of the Gravette School District should begin preparing for the celebration. It will be a time to enjoy all the events, make new friends and ‘rediscover Gravette... the heart of hometown America.’”

More information will be released as a schedule is finalized for all three days. For information, contact Foxx at 787-5856, kenfoxx@ msn.com; Damon Wallace, 644-4578, damonwallace@ yahoo.com; or Gravette City Hall, 787-5757, Gravette [email protected].
