GRAVETTE — Bob Johnson, Gravette High School marketing and business instructor, was honored recently as Arkansas 2011 Marketing Teacher of the Year. The announcement was made at the State DECA Leadership Conference in Little Rock earlier this month.
Johnson, shown with his award plaque, has taught in Gravette 15 years, where he instructs a variety of classes in marketing anddigital communications.
He has served on the board for the Arkansas Marketing Association of Teachers for two years and has made other contributions to the school and to the marketing professional learning community. He sponsors career day at GHS each year.
Johnson has also acquired two grants, totaling $64,000, for the school during his employment and has completed phase one of the National Boards Program.
