Arkansas Children's Hospital to teach students about health

— Jennifer Hurst, Community Outreach Coordinator with the Arkansas Children’s Hospital, will be speaking on Thursday, April 7, to Pre-K through second grade students at Glenn Duffy Elementary School in Gravette.

Hurst’s “Healthy Habits” presentations are designed to be a fun and effective way of introducing children to important health and wellness topics. Last month she saw more than 15,500 students in25 countries as part of a statewide network of volunteers known as Circle of Friends.

“Healthy Habits” provides lively discussions and practical demonstrations related to hygiene, fitness and healthy choices. Hurst teaches students the importance of eating right, brushing their teeth, washing their hands, exercising and taking care of their bodies. Each student receives a a goody bag filled with a “101 Good Health Habits” coloring book, crayons, a toothbrush, toothpaste and a jump rope.
