— We are getting some more cool weather. We got rain, along with some wind and hail and an electrical storm. I guess that all goes together for spring.

A birthday celebration was held Sunday, March 20, honoring Joaquina Martinez. A delicious birthday dinner was prepared by her children, followed with cake and ice cream. Joaquina received a total of 83 birthday cards in the mail from family and friends and thanks all for the kind words and birthday wishes. Those attending were Anita andMichael Scates and fiancé Rebecca Brown and children Mikey and Serenity, Charlie Martinez, Marvin and Luke Ballmann and Betty Woods of Maysville; Orlando and Carla Martinez, Bobbie Gayle Woods, Mike and Paige Snook of Gravette; Joe and Michelle Martinez of Hiwasse; Dale and Beverly Harris of Decatur; Noeila (Martinez) Thomas of Sallisaw, Okla.; Kelsie Martinez of Siloam Springs; Hailey Thomas of Fayetteville; Justin Martinez of Stillwater, Okla.; Debbie Scraper of Colcord, Okla.; Jamie and Charlene Martinez of Longview, Tex. An afternoon of great food,good friends and family was enjoyed by all. Happy Birthday. Hope you have many more.

My visitor on Monday was Clifton Tucker of Bella Vista. He was out this way so he came by for a while. I was glad he did.

Orpha Wardlaw, Katherine Tucker and Melinda Crawley attended a meeting at the county extension office on Wednesday of last week.

This Saturday evening, April 2, is the fundraiser for Maysville E.H. Club. It’s a bean supper with beans, coleslaw, cornbread, cake and drinks (coffee, tea and lemonade). Cost is a donation inthe jar. We will serve from 5 to 7 p.m., later if needed. The cake walk begins at 7 p.m. for 25¢ a walk. We will have homemade pies for sale, $8 to $12 each. We need cakes for the cake walk. All proceeds go for expenses on the community building and mowing. Mark your calendar and plan to attend. We appreciate everyone’s support.

Les and Jean Martindale, Jack and Sylvia Tucker met Patti King and friend Petru and grandson Noah Star at Callahan’s in Siloam Springs on Friday evening to eat. They report an enjoyable afternoon.
