— Gentry hosted the Berryville Lady Bobcats Tuesday for a welcome win.

Berryville scored the first run in the top of the first inning on two hits, but Gentry scored in the second on a walk by Josie Graves, a sacrifice by Jordan Olds to advance Graves, followed by a single by Metaya Snell for the RBI.

The Lady Pioneers added two more runs in the third, taking advantage of Lady Bobcat errors, and scored two in the sixth when Rindy Hudson reached on error and scored on a double by Cloie Sikes. Graves singled to score Sikes.

Berryville was unable to plate another runner until the seventh when Lady Bobcat C. Warren drew a walk and scored on a hard drive to left field by Edens. Edens' attempt to stretch the hit into a double was thwarted when left fielder Olds threw in to second baseman Sikora Ruiz for the tag out.

The final score was Gentry 5, Berryville 2.

Gentry v. Farmington

On Thursday, the Lady Pioneers took on the Lady Cardinals at Farmington. Gentry was unable to hold back the Lady Cardinals as they hit every hole and took advantage of Lady Pioneer errors to score eight runs. Gentry failed to score, with seven runners left standing.

The final score was Farmington 8, Gentry 0.

District Play Gentry v. Berryville

The 4A District Tournament began in Farmington on Friday, with Gentry again taking on the Berryville Lady Bobcats.

The Lady Pioneers started strong with the hometeam advantage, shutting the Lady Bobcats down 1-2-3 and scoring five runs in the first inning on three walks, a base on error and a nice double hit by Graves.

Gentry scored again in the second when Suzanna Sikes singled and came home on a hit by Hudson.

The Lady Bobcats rallied in the third, scoring three runs on a double, a base on error and a single, narrowing Gentry's lead to 6-3.

The Lady Pioneers increased their lead in the fourth when Courtney Folker singled, reached third on Lady Bobcat errors and scored on apassed ball. Suzanna Sikes and Ruiz drew walks, and Hudson reached on error. Cloie Sikes singled to left, scoring Ruiz. Graves again doubled to score Hudson and Cloie Sikes. Suzanna Sikes and Ruiz again walked, with Sikes to score on a passed ball and Ruiz brought home on a double down the third baseline by Hudson.

The game final was Gentry 13, Berryville 3.

Gentry v. Gravette

The Lady Pioneers met Gravette’s Lady Lions later Friday evening for a 7-0 loss to end the season.

The Gentry team and fans bid a fond farewell to five seniors, Sarah Hogan, Courtney Folker, Alexia Gonzales, Metaya Snell and Sikora Ruiz. Their spirit, hard work and love of the game was an inspiration to all.
