— After a week of rains and rain delays, the 4A-1 district track meet concluded on a sunny Thursday afternoon at Gravette High School, with eight teams participating in the men's events and seven in the women's.

Overall, the Gravette women's team took first at the meet, with the men coming in second behind Shiloh Christian. Gentry finished behind Gravette in both the boys' and girls' team scores.

Following are the meet results.

In the boys' 100-meter dash, Tre Ascencio-Porter of Gentry finished third with a time of 11.66 seconds; Trey Tyner of Gravette, fifth at 11.70; and Stanley Heyword-Brown in sixth with a time of 11.74. Heyword-Brown also took third in the 200-meter dash, with a time of 23.52. Kevin Parish took sixth with a time of 24:10. Logan Hirsch of Gravette took third in the 400-meter dash with a finishing time of 53.37.

In the 800-meter run, Brian Hendren, of Gravette, finished in second, with a time of 2:13.10. Alex Lovell and Seth Thomas, both of Gravette, finished in fifth and sixth places in the run. Colby Bryant, of Gentry, finished third in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:13.67.

In the 3200-meter run, Sam Riester and Cody Nims, both of Gravette, finished in the fourth- and fifth-place slots.

In the 110-meter hurdles, Gravette's Cody Bullock took first with a time of 16.48, nearly 2 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. Cody Robinson and Michael Young, of Gravette finished in fourth and fifth in the race. Bullock also took first in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 43.13. Clay Norman of Gentry finished third with a time of 45.43.

In the 4x100 relay, Gravette's team of Bullock, Heyword-Brown, Hirsch and Tyner finished second with a time of 45.38. In the 4x400, Campbell, Heyword-Brown, Bullock and Hirsch again finished in second with a time of 3:38.88. In the 4x800, Gravette's team of Hendren, Nims, Duarte and Riester finished second at 9:08.96. Gentry finished in third, 9:20.55, with Bryant, Parish, Ramsey and Hernandez running.

In boys' high jump, Gravette sophomore Alex Lovell finished in second with a jump of 5 feet, 11 inches. Terrence Pierce of Gravette and Kevin Parish of Gentry finished in the four and five spot.

Gentry's Austin Millsap took second in the pole-vaulting competition, clearing 11 feet. Jerod Cousins and Nick Killgore of Gentry, and Trey Tyner of Gravette, tied for third with vaults of 10-feet, 6-inches.

Darrick Strzelecki, of Gravette, cleared 20 feet, 7 inches to win the top spot in the boys' long-jump competition. Logan Hirsch andZach Campbell, of Gravette, finished the event in fifth and sixth.

In the triple-jump event, Strzelecki took second with a distance of 40 feet, 8.5 inches. Gentry's Tre Ascencio-Porter finished third. Alex Lovell finished fourth, and Jerod Cousins was fifth.

In the shot put, Gentry took the second- through fourth-place slots. Bryar Preuss threw 40 feet, 9.25 inches for second, followed by Eathen Ramsey, Tre Ascensio-Porter and Kevin Scherer.

In the discus throw, Gentry took the top three slots, with Ramsey throwing 134 feet, 2 inches. Scherer was second at just short of 127 feet, and Ricky Hernandez was third with a throw of just over 115.5 feet.

Women's

In the girls' events, Courtney Millsap, of Gentry, finished second in the 100-meter dash, with a time of 13.51 seconds. Shelby Newell of Gravette finished fifth in the race at 13.74. Millsap also finished second in the 200-meter race with a time of 27.88. Sophia Porter of Gentry and Peyton Scott of Gravette, both freshmen, finished in fifth and sixth places. Finishing third and fourth in the 400-meter dash were Gravette senior Taylor Kean, 1:03.77, and Millsap, 1:06.78.

Kaylin Cripps, of Gentry, finished sixth in the 800-meter run with a time of 3:00.55. Gentry freshman Hannah Bond took sixth in the 1600-meter race with a time of 7:09.32. In the 3200-meter run, it was Gravette's Kyndra Meeker in first, at 14:41.24. Gentry freshman Nacona Dunlap finished fourth in the race.

Taylor Kean, of Gravette, left everyone in the dust in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing in first place with a time of 16.94. Dunlap and Loren Cripps, both of Gentry, finished in fifth and sixth.

In the 300-meter hurdles, Gravette's Jordan White finished in the first place spot with a time of 54.38. Loren Cripps, Nacona Dunlap and Brooklyn Williamson, all from Gentry, took third, fourth and fifth in the event.

Gentry's team of Williamson, Porter, Bond and Dunlap took second in the 100-meter relay, finishing in 58.58. In the 4x400 event, it was Gravette in first, with runs by Britton, Galyean, Newell and Kean, finishing the distance in 4:30.90. Gentry's team of Millsap, Cripps, Cripps and Flesner finished third. The Gravette team of DeWitt, Janes, Meeker and Galyean took second in the long 4x800 relay.

In the high-jump competition, Gravette's Shelby Newell took first, clearing the bar at 4 feet, 11 inches. Taylor Kean cleared 4 feet, 9 inches for third. Loren Cripps, of Gentry, finished in fifth at 4 foot, 2 inches.

Gravette girls took the top three slots in the long-jump competition. Newell cleared 16 feet, 1 inch. Kean finished second and Meeker third. Gentry's Courtney Millsap finished in fifth.

In the triple jump, Newell, of Gravette, again took first, clearing 35 feet, 8 inches. Kean finished second. Gentry took the next three spots, with Millsap, Kaylin Cripps and Sophia Porter.

In the shot, Gentry's Rebekah Cook threw 25 feet, 7.25 inches for a second place spot. She was followed by Aubree Garrett of Gravette in fourth and Gentry's Kristen Flesner in sixth.

In the discus throw, Gentry's Terra Jones came away with a first, throwing 86 feet, 8 inches. In second was Gravette's Lacey Newell with a throw of 84 feet, 1 inch. Gentry's Rebekah Cook took third and Jacelyn Hundley, sixth.
