Gentry store closes

Curran Feeds closes doors after almost 65 years of service to the Gentry area.

— Sadly, patrons of Curran Feed Store in Gentry did not find business as usual on Monday, with customers coming and going and buying the feeds and supplies they need for their horses and livestock. Instead, there was a handwritten note on the door from Larry and Lou Ann Curran advising customers that the store had closed.

The note listed the current economy and high grain prices as the cause of the business closure.

The business was a strong supporter of local 4-H and FFA projects and will be greatly missed in the community and surrounding area.

Curran Feeds had been in business in Gentry for just short of 65 years. The company also owned a store in Elm Springs
