Gravette schools busy as end of year nears

— \As the end of school, June 2, approaches in Gravette Public Schools, many events are being scheduled for the various classes and departments.

Several classes have already held field trips or have trips scheduled. Testing for seniors ended this week in preparation for their graduation this Saturday, May 21. Tests for lower grades are already scheduled as summer vacation approaches.

Several activities for the various schools are included in the following listing. For information about these or otherevents contact the appropriate school office.

Glenn Duffy Elementary

May 20: Buddy Day, all day on the school ground. Kindergarten from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.; Grades 1 and 2, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

May 27: Pre-K Luau activities during the morning with a special concert at approximately 1:30 p.m.

May 27: Second graders City Walk. Students will walk by class to visit various locations including the Gravette museum, the Boys and Girls Club, the City Hall, etc.

June 2: Awards ceremonies. First grade at 1 p.m., second grade at 1:45 p.m. in the school cafeteria.

June 2: Kindergarten graduation, 9-10 a.m. at High School Performing Arts Center.

Gravette Upper Elementary

May 19: Be A Winner graduation at 2 p.m. at the cafeteria. Miss Arkansas will be a special guest.

June 1: Awards ceremonies. Fifth grade, 1 p.m.; Fourth grade, 1:45 p.m.; Third grade, 2:20 p.m. in the school cafeteria.

June 2: Celebration Day and Talent Show: Third grade, 8:15 a.m.; Fourth grade, 9:15 a.m.; Fifth grade, 2:20 p.m.

Gravette Middle School

June 1: Awards assembly held in the competition gymnasium.

Gravette High School

May 17: Scholarship night, 7-8 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center.

May 19: Class rings arrive, 11 a.m.

May 20: Awards assembly, 9-10 a.m. at the Performing Arts Center.

May 20: GHS Baccalaureate, 7 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center.

May 21: GHS Graduation, 10 a.m. at Lion Field (weather permitting) or at the competition gym.

May 23: Athletic banquet, 5-9 p.m. at the high school commons.

May 30: Memorial Day, no school.

June 2: Last day of classes.
