We had a little change in temperature over the weekend. It seemed almost like fall on Sunday. Guess we had better enjoy it. Summer is getting close.

Those spending time in the home of Patti King in Lowell on Saturday were Jack and Sylvia Tucker, Ronnie and Debbie Sims, StacyHunt and son Noah, Mrs. Randy Woods, Sammie Sappington and some friends. They were celebrating Sammie’s graduating from the U of A. She graduated with Honors and received her Master’s Degree. Congratulations, Sammie.

Janell Smith, daughter Mattie and son Bodie visited in the home of Billy and Violet Lovell on Friday. They told aboutMattie’s trip to Oklahoma University for a judging contest recently. She is a member of the Jay 4-H Club. Her team placed seventh overall and Mattie placed third in the individual contest.

11-year-old Bodie Smith drove a 1937 Model A John Deere tractor in the Old Timers Parade in Southwest City recently. He got first place in parade judging. The Smith family lived here at Maysville for several years and were active in 4-H Club and other activities.

My brother, Jim Vandiver of Broken Arrow, Okla., came over Sunday morning and brought a friend with him. We went to Springdale Hospital where our brother, Vernon Vandiver, is a patient. He will probably be there for six weeks. He has complications from infection.

Shelley Bishop visited her grandparents, Jack and Sylvia Tucker, one afternoon this week.

A singing was held at the Maysville Bible Church Sunday night featuring The Doss Brothers and Jim Whisenant. Some good singing.
