Old Gravette Hospital demolition

GRAVETTE — Backhoes have made short work of the old Gravette Medical Center Hospital building during the past few days.

The photo was taken Monday from the north side of the building which, along with the northeast wing, was all that remained of the structure.

The original hospital, which contained 14 beds, was constructed in 1955. Two additions were made to the facility which served the community and area until the new hospital was built in 1975. The site is being prepared for a new Walmart Express which is expected to open later this summer.
