Walmart reps visited Gravette Chamber of Commerce to introduce new manager

— Representatives from Walmart shared information about the new Walmart Express planned for Gravette at the recent meeting of the Gravette Chamber of Commerce.

Although details cannot be shared, according to minutes of the meeting, some information was shared on what to expect at the Gravette location.

Jeannette Dirienzo was introduced as manager for the store when it opens.

The store opening is scheduled for late August, tentatively August 31.

Walmart Express stores are modeled after their international format.

Store hours will be Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Merchandise will be customized to fit local needs and wants.

Other Chamber Business

Items of business conducted by the Chamber at the meeting held May 4 at Ozarks Community Hospital included the following:

A planned schedule of events for Gravette Days in August was presented, though not finalized.

Announcement was made the Chamber has a new telephone number: 479-787-8998.

Unanimously adopted a recommendation by the executive committee that the membership fee for 2012 will be a flat $50, with an emphasis businesses may contribute more if they choose.

Voted to award a scholarship to a Gravette graduate.

Reported that Chamber members may contribute items for welcome bags for new residents to the city.

The next meeting of the Chamber will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, at the Ozarks Community Hospital classroom, according to Jayna Cardetti, OCH Communications Coordinator.

Businesses/individuals not currently members of the Chamber may call the new number, 787-8998, to learn how to become a part of the organization which is dedicated to the growth and development of Gravette and the area.
