Janice Goates

Janice Goates, 49, of Decatur, died May 8, 2011, at the Circle of Life Legacy Village Hospice in Bentonville.

She was a Christian and a homemaker, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by both parents, Melvin Stacy and Dorthey (Bowman) Stacy; one sister, Sue Goates; four brothers, Jimmy, Curtis, Garry and Robert Stacy.

She is survived by her loving husband, Alfred Goates of the home; two children, Phillip Stacy of Bella Vista, Kimberly Brooks of Decatur; one stepson, Ronnie Goates of Ozark; one stepdaughter, Sharon Baltazar and her husband Rod of Alamogordo, N.M.; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; one sister, Linda Denny and husband Dean of Colcord, Okla.; fourbrothers, Darrell Stacy and wife Cindy of Decatur, Ricky Stacy and wife Michelle of Decatur, Eric Stacy and wife Marcell of Pea Ridge, and Randy Stacy of Fayetteville.

Memorial services were May 12 at Benton County Memorial Park’s Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers, with Chuck Bengtson officiating. A private family service followed at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Hiwasse.

Arrangements were by Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home and Crematory in Rogers.

Mary Jordan

Mary Georgiana Jordan, 87, of Siloam Springs, died May 13, 2011, at her home.

She was born April 4, 1924, in Breckenridge, Texas, to George B. Marsh and Mary Martha Alley Marsh. She was a graduateof the University of Arkansas and was employed by the Siloam Springs School District for many years.

Survivors include two sons, George Jordan and wife Debra of Siloam Springs and Alan Jordan and wife Mary of Gentry; 12 grandchildren and 18 greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services were May 16 at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs. Burial followed at Fairmount Cemetery near Gentry.

Cecil Richardson

Cecil H. Richardson, 90, of Gentry, died May 12, 2011, at his home.

He was born Jan. 26, 1921, in Bergman, to George Mahlon and Viola Thornton Richardson. He was a roofing contractor and owned and operated NWA Roofing for many years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Mae Richardson, and one daughter, Linda Kirkland.

Survivors include two sons, Cecil “Sonny” Richardson and wife Carlis of Gentry, and Mahlon Richardson and wife Marsha of Fayetteville; four daughters, Merlene Richardson and Erlene Pilgrim, both of Gentry, Betty Collins and husband Milford of Hindsville, and Pat Richardson of Gentry; 17 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were May 16 at Sisco Funeral Chapel, with Loren Collins officiating. Burial was at the Burkshed Cemetery.

Wiley Wood

Wiley Junior Wood, 80, of Colcord, Okla., died May 12, 2011, at his home.

He was born Jan. 10, 1931, in Flint, Okla., to Wiley Martin Wood and Rosie Elder Wood. He married Mary Sue Tussinger in Bentonville in 1954. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and a machinist with Brand Rex Company.

He was preceded in death by his wife.

Survivors include two sons, Ron Wood and wife Sharon of Colcord, Don Wood and wife Rachel of Colcord; two daughters, Margie Nutter and husband Joe of Colcord, Juanita Vernon and husband Mike of Atchison, Kan.; 12 grandchildren, 17 greatgrandchildren; two brothers, Charles “Cork” Wood of Rayville, Mo., Jack Wood of Colcord; five sisters, Willie Shook of Kansas City, Mo., Louise Roe of Kansas City, Rosie Allen of Kansas City, Faye Gillis of Stockton, Mo., and Eva Marie Taylor of Stockton.

Graveside services were May 16 at Allen Cemetery in Moseley, Okla., with Larry Hendren officiating. Burial followed.
