Poemoceah awarded $1,000 scholarship

— Gravette High School senior R. Daniel Poemoceah was one of six Benton County seniors awarded scholarships by Live On Stage of NWA. He is the son of R. Marcus and Ruth Poemoceah of Gravette.

Poemoceah and each of the other five honorees, Joshua Wayne (Bella Vista) of Bentonville High School; Penn Wenzler, John Whitmore and Palmer Lee, all of Rogers High School; and Christopher Barnett of Siloam Springs High School, received $1,000 awards May 1 at Arend Arts Center in Bentonville.

Live On Stage presents nationally known musical artists in concert during the year in Benton County. This is the fourth year high school seniors have been awarded scholarships through the group which underwrote three of the stipends. One scholarship was underwritten by Bella Vista AARP Chapter 109, one by Delta Trust and Bank and one by Dr. James and Anne McKenzie.

The awards were presented during the intermission of a Live On Stage sponsored event at Arend Arts Center in Bentonville on May 1.
