— The Eagle Observer makes the following clarification/correction in last week’s Gravette School Board story.

The district is not receiving a million dollar “revenue enhancement” from the state to use for building projects proposed for the district.

The money is actually local tax revenue which the state required the district to “carry over” to satisfy requirements of a state law. That law has been repealed.

Referred to as “40 percent pull-back funds,” themoney is being returned only to those individual districts in the amounts those districts may or may not be entitled.

The money being returned to Gravette is expected to be transferred to the building fund where it will be used in the middle school and ball field projects if voters approve the plan in an upcoming special election.

In another part of last week’s story, the bonus amount for school personnel is $625 per person rather than the $650 amount listed.
