— The Gravette Lions jumped to a 27-0 lead as they invaded Berryville Bobcat territory last Friday night. The 46-10 victory ran Coach Harrelson’s Lions’ record to 7-2, while Berryville dropped to 0-9 for the year.

The Lions will end their regular season this Friday at Lion Stadium when the Prairie Grove Tigers come into town. The Tigers’ season record is also 7-2. They defeated Gentry Pioneers 42-7 Friday evening.

Gravette built a 40-3 lead by half-time, with the Bobcats only managing a field goal. The Lions scored another touchdown in the third quarter and, operating with substitutions, held the Bobcats to a single fourth quarter TD to end the 42-10 blowout.

Clayton Alexander completed 8 of 10 passes for the Lions, including a 55-yard TD pass to Dallas Kerley, for a total of 162 yards in the air. He was not intercepted.

In the rushing department, Darrick Strzelecki rambled 105 yards on 11 carries, the longest being 25 yards. Kyle Cox had 38 yards, Dallas Kerley 15, Cody Robinson 12 and Zach Deatherage 9 as theLions rolled up 177 yards on the road.

Kyle Summers had two receptions for a total of 41 yards; Tyler Greenhaw had a pair for 50 yards, Michael Young an 11-yard reception and Adam Roberts two receptions for 8 yards.

Strzelecki ran for a pair of TDs. Kerley and Robinson each had a pair. Aaron Means put six more points on the board and Kerley led all scorers with 22 points, including four of five extra points.

Friday night is parents’ night at Lion Stadium, with ceremonies to precede the 7 o’clock kickoff against the Tigers.
