Pioneers overrun by Tigers

— The Pioneers took a beating Friday night in their home stadium, being overrun by the Prairie Grove Tigers, 42-7.

The Tigers manhandled the Pioneers on both sides of the ball, utilizing their patented run attack, combined with a proficient passing attack on offense, while the defense bullied Gentry into three turnovers and limited the hosts to 49 yards of offense in the first half.

Gentry didn’t get a point on the board until the final minutes of the game. With the Tiger starters having been pulled from the game, the Pioneers were ableto spoil the shutout with a touchdown and extrapoint that came with only 1:24 left in the contest, making the final score 42-7.

The Pioneers finish their regular season in a tough game against the Hillbillies (8-1) at Ozark on Friday. The Hillbillies defeated Shiloh Christian on Friday, 28-20.
