Donation to be used for cataloging software

— A gift from the Walmart Foundation will allow the Gravette Public Library to install a new cataloging, circulation and public access software package.

Kim Schneider, library manager, said the Foundation awarded the library a $25,000 grant which will pay for conversion of the library’s present system to the SirsiDynix system, a system approved by the Arkansas Library Commission.

“This will enable the library to have greater access to the services the state system provides and will also enable the library to apply for additional grants from additional sources,” Schneider said.

Karen Parker, senior manager, Walmart corporate giving, for the Foundation said in a letter which accompanied the check, “Walmart Corporate Giving is pleased to provide funding to Gravette Public Library in support of software needs. We appreciate this opportunity to make a difference within the community.”
