DECATUR — The Magazine Rattlers, defending state champions in the 2A conference, proved to be too much for the Decatur Bulldogs on Friday night.
The Bulldogs fell to Magazine 36-7 during the game in Magazine.
The Rattlers’ win gave them a perfect 10-0 record as they advance to the playoffs as the number one seed from the 4-2A conference.
By half-time the Rattlers squad had scored 23 points and restricted Decatur from scoring. No points were scored by either team in the third quarter. Then, in the fourth quarter, Decatur’s sophomore wide receiver Stephen Buckmaster scored atouchdown and Tito Mendoza scored the point after touchdown. The Rattlers also gained 13 points in the fourth quarter.
Friday's game was the final contest of the season for the Bulldogs, leaving them with a record of 1-9 overall and 1-7 in conference.
