Basketball season getting under way

— Gravette High School’s senior basketball schedule will continue “on schedule” except when the football team is involved in state play-off competition on Friday nights. This information comes from GHS athletic Director Norman Mitchell.

The Lion football team travels to Warren this Friday in the Class 4A state playoffs.

The senior boys and girls basketball teams were to play Decatur Monday of this week and will travel to Siloam Springs Saturday for tournament action. West Fork will invade the Lion field house next Monday.

The senior girls will play in a tournament at McDonald County in Missouri the week of Nov. 28 while the senior boys will travel to Greenland to compete in a tournament there.

Berryville’s Bobcats will be in Gravette Nov. 29 which will end competition for the month of November.

The Junior High teamswill play in the Benton County Tournament being held in Gentry starting Nov. 28.

Gentry’s varsity boys’ and girls’ teams were scheduled to play Elkins at Elkins on Tuesday (after press time) but bothwere also scheduled to play in the Siloam Springs Allen Classic yesterday afternoon. Both varsity teams play at home Friday against Rogers-Heritage, with games beginning at 6 p.m., according to the schedule.
