Building plans approved, special election called

Wednesday, November 16, 2011

— The Gravette School Board, at its meeting Monday night, approved two construction projects, scheduled a special election and adopted a budget to finance the projects.

Approved was a conceptional plan to construct a new addition to the Gravette Middle School and to construct baseball/softball fields on the high school campus, fields that have been on the drawingboard since the new high school was first built.

The projects will be financed by retirement of three existing bond issues and issuance of new bonds. They will be completed without any increase in the district’s present 37.2 millage rate.

Voters will be asked to approve the plan in a special election which will be held Feb. 14, 2012. Details of the projects will be addressed in future issues of the Westside Eagle Observer.
