Gwendolyn Browers

Gwendolyn LaNeal Mitchum Browers, 65, of Decatur, died Nov. 8, 2011, at her home.

She was born July 12, 1946, in Batesville, to Neal Mitchum and Josephine Morris Oakley. She lived in Little Rock for many years and worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital before moving to Northwest Arkansas. She retired from the VA Hospital in Fayetteville as an administrator after 30 years with the VA. She was a member of the Eastgate Church of Christ in Siloam Springs. She married Marvin L. Browers in Fayetteville on March 16, 2011.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Marilyn Legebokoff.

Survivors include her husband Marvin of the home; one son, Joseph Kelly and wife Jennifer of Cave Springs; two sisters, Maxine Newcomb and husband Larry of Jacksonville, Fla., and Caroline Brown and husband Thurman of Vilonia; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services were Nov. 11, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, with Doug Guilliams officiating. Burial followed at Falling Springs Cemetery, Decatur.

Jonathen Christopher

Jonathen Finly Christopher, of Siloam Springs, was stillborn Nov 11, 2011, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital.

He was the son of Thomas E. Christopher and Stephanie McMahan.

Survivors include his parents; two sisters, Breanna McMahan and Jazelyn Christopher of Siloam Springs; his maternal grandmother, Twila McMahan of Siloam Springs; his maternal grandfather, Robert McMahan of Colcord, Okla.; his paternal grandmother, Opal Keith of Hot Springs; and his paternal grandfather, Thomas D. Christopher of Oklahoma.

Graveside services were Nov. 14 at Bell Cemetery, Watts, Okla.

Elsie Louise Koop

Elsie Louise Koop, 86, of Springdale, Arkansas, died November 9, 2011, at her home. Born January 2, 1925 in Cimarron, Kansas, she was the daughter of Jacob Wedell Jr., and Lizzie Koehn Wedell. She moved to Arkansas from California 35 years ago. Elsie was a gentle, lovely lady, dedicated to her family, and one of the nicest people you could ever know. It blessed us to hear her say, “the happiest days of my life were when I had my babies around me.”

She was preceded in death by brothers, Bill Wedell, Frank Wedell, and Edwin Wedell; and sisters, Francis Nightingale, Mary Smith, and Lillie Giesbrecht.

Survivors include her children MariAnn Tosta and husband Frank of Highfill, Arkansas, Elmer Koop, Jr. and wife Linda of Myrtle Point, Oregon, Joanna Koop of Gentry, Arkansas, Becky Donaldson and husband Sam of Springdale, Arkansas, Judy Donohew and husband Lee of Maysville, Arkansas, John Koop of Gentry, Arkansas, and Warren Koop of Springdale; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Arkansas, with Pastor Tim Estes officiating. Burial followed at Gentry Cemetery, Gentry, Arkansas. Visitation was 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 14, 2011, at Wasson Funeral Home.
