— Decatur fire chief David Flynt presented Karen Mills, fundraising coordinator for the Razorback Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, with a check for $2,138.37 on Nov. 15.

Decatur Firefighters collected the money during a boot drive at the intersection of Main Street and Roller Avenue last month. The Razorback Chapter of the MDA relies on firefighter’s boot drives for more than 47 percent of its budget, Mills said.

The chapter covers 23 counties in northwest Arkansas and northeast Oklahoma, she said, and is supported by at least 30 local fire departments. Pictured along with Flynt and Mills are firefighters Jimmy Sousley, Jeremy Luker, James Jessen, Michael Philpott, Randy Cox, Josh Greer and Danny Miller.
