— NWA Riding Club members crowded the Decatur Community Building for the annual awards banquet on Saturday evening.

Cowboys and cowgirls, young and old, celebrated the end of the competitive season with the potluck dinner and awards ceremony.

The evening also featured a dessert and regular auction to raise money for the club's events.

Awards were given for the rider of the year in each age group, as well as the horse of the year.

Fun awards and prizes were also given and kept the audience laughing.

Concession stand volunteers and arena rangers were also recognized for their hard work.

The club offers activities for riders of all ages but has a special focus on young people.

It also offers a college scholarship for graduating seniors.

The NWA riding club meets bi-weekly from March through October in the indoor arena at Rumsey Equestrian Center, off Arkansas Highway 12 west of Gentry, and competes in play-day rodeo events.
