Lions topple West Fork

— The Gravette Lions won their third consecutive game last Monday, Nov. 21, at Lion Fieldhouse when they defeated the West Fork Tigers 50-45.

Off to a slow start with only 6 points in the opening quarter, the Lions led scoring in the second quarter to take a one-point lead, 24-23, at half-time.

A 15-point surge by the Tigers put the visitors with a 38-29 advantage going into the final quarter when the Lions put on their own 20-point scoring barrage. The game ended with a 59-45 Lion victory.

Kyle Bilderback led the Lions with 17 points; Terence Pierce hit 14 and others in the scoring column were Matt vanOtterloo, 9 points, Carson Pollreis, 7, and Quinten Parker, with 3.

No statistics were available for the Tigers and none were available for the girls’ game which the visiting Lady Tigers won with a 71-40 score.

The teams were to tangle with Berryville when the Bobcats came to Gravette Tuesday of this week. The Lions/Lady Lions will travel to Pea Ridge next Tuesday, Dec. 6, and will host Prairie Grove at Lion Fieldhouse Dec. 9 following junior games which begin at 5 p.m.
