MAYSVILLE NEWS

We are supposed to get some rain and we can sure use it. As I’m writing this it has begun to rain so we are glad of that.

I went to Harrison on Tuesday with Steve and Susan Tucker. We went to see Seth and Melody Tucker and had a great time. Of course, there was good food for the evening meal. That’s always enjoyable.

Orpha Wardlaw spent some time the last week in Little Rock with her daughter Christi Wardlaw. They always enjoy the time together.

The city-wide yard sale at the community building went good for the ones who had a booth. Hope they were pleased with what they sold. The club was hosting it.

Patti King of Lowell and Sammie Sappington of Minnesota visited Jack and Sylvia Tucker last Thursday. Sammie had to return home on Friday. They had a good visit and I know they had a good lunch.

Maysville E. H. Club has their fall fundraiser plannedon Saturday, Oct. 22. It’s a bean supper with beans, coleslaw, cornbread and drink for a donation. We will have homemade pies for sale and a cake walk. We need pies and also need cakes for the cake walk. We will start serving at 5:30. Mark your calendar and come enjoy the evening.

Sylvia Tucker spent Monday afternoon with Johnnie Mae Marshall. They had a good time visiting. I’m not sure if they crocheted or not but they enjoy each other’s friendship.

I went to Broken Arrow, Okla., on Sunday with my sister-in-law Janis Vandiver, niece Christi Vandiver and sister Frances Sims to visit our brother, Jim Vandiver. Then we all went out to eat before coming home. We really had a good day. The weather was perfect. We also got to see my nephew, Randy Vandiver.

There was a fellowship dinner at Maysville Bible Church after morning services Sunday with good food and fellowship. Amanda Jones sang a special in morning services which was very good.
