— The Camp Crowder gymnasium in Sulphur Springs is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is among 12 properties in Arkansas which received the designation.

The gymnasium, located at 205 Shiloh Drive, is a c.1941 U.S. Army building. It was moved there shortly after the end of World War II.

“The gymnasium has had many uses over the years,” the National Register nomination says. “Originally constructed as a gymnasium in the early 1940s at Camp Crowder Military Base in Neosho, Missouri, the wood frame structure was moved to Sulphur Springs in 1948 and has at various times been owned by John Brown University, Wycliffe Bible Translators, and is now the property of Shiloh Church.”
