PD collecting unused drugs

— The Gravette Police Department will participate in the DEA National “Take-Back Day” when citizens may drop off their expired, unused or unwanted medications for disposal.

People may bring the items to the Gravette Police Department between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Oct. 29.

The public is advised never to flush their medications because they could contaminate ground water and possibly leach into wells, according to state officials.

At least 200 locations statewide are participating in the “Take-Back Day” and the Gravette Police Department is happy to be one of the participating departments, said Chief Trent Morrison.
