Gravette beats Jay 50-26 during first season game

First home game against McDonald County this Friday

— Gravette Lions Varsity Football season got underway Friday with a 50-26 win against the Jay, Okla. Bulldogs.

The Lions first home game will be the following Friday, Sept. 9, when the McDonald County Mustangs invade Lion Stadium at 7:30 p.m.

Gravette fans are asked to wear orange to the Sept. 9 game to show their support for the Lions.

Another road game at Poteau, Okla., will be held the following Friday before the start of the conference season.

Homecoming will be held Sept. 23 against the Pea Ridge Blackhawks at 7 p.m.

The conference schedule includes the following games, all played at 7 p.m., Sept. 30 at Gentry; Oct. 7 against Ozark; Oct. 14 against Farmington; Oct. 21 at Shiloh Christian; Oct. 28 at Berryville; and the final regular season home game (Parent’s Night) against Prairie Grove Nov. 4.
