Gravette library starts bookmobile service for Centerton residents

Wednesday, September 7, 2011

— Gravette Public Library is starting a bookmobile service for persons in Centerton. The announcement comes from Kim Schneider, Gravette library director.

Visits of the bookmobile to the Centerton City Hall will be held on Thursdays and the service will continue each Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Schneider said.

Bill Edwards, Mayor of Centerton, visited the Gravette library recently and said a volunteer will operate the bookmobile selection at his City Hall between weekly visits. That schedule is being worked out.

Schneider said initially about 50-75 books will be involved including some for all age groups and, as usage grows, the supply will increase.

The Gravette library also provides a bookmobile service each Wednesday to residents of the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center in Gravette. That service will continue as will other services the library extends to the community and area.

The library is equipped with computers for citizens’ use, provides GED classes for persons who wish to obtain their high school diploma and holds a weekly children’s reading session for preschool age children each Tuesday at 10 a.m.

All the services are available at no charge, unless special materials, etc. must be purchased or for postage, etc. to secure bookloans from the Arkansas State Library. For information contact the Gravette library at 787-6955.
