— Area residents who would welcome assistance in learning to write a resume, or the particulars of how to prepare and participate in a job interview, are invited to attend a job fair workshop at the Gravette Public Library.

Library director Kim Schneider said the free two-day event will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 20-21, at the library, located at 407 Charlotte Street, S.E., in Gravette.

Hours will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days, Schneider said.

“It can be come-and-go attendance” based on the individual’s particular needs,” she explained.

Two of the main purpos!es of the workshop will be providing information and guidance on how to write a resume which will lead to an interview, and then how to prepare for a successful interview leading to potential employment.

Of particular practical interest will be mock interviews conducted by representatives from local businesses and firms: R&R Solutions, Insul-Bead, Bank of Gravett, Walmart Express, Arvest Bank and Ozarks Community Hospital. The interviews will give hands-on learning tips on the facets of a job search.

Other Workshop Services

A representative will be present to provide information on personal and household budget management. Representatives from the four branches ofthe armed forces will be present to provide information to those interested in pursuing a military career.

Representatives from the Office of Human Concern, the University of Phoenix and the Siloam Springs office of Arkansas Workforce will also be available with information.

Through the cooperation of superintendent of schools Andrea Kelly and the Gravette High School, members of the senior class will be able to attend and learn about the various options and expectations of job seekers.

Schneider emphasized that the entire program is free.

“People may come and go at their own schedule. A person may spend an hour one day learning resumewriting information and the next day attend for a mock interview session or both,” she explained.

The event is tailored especially for those living in Gravette, Gentry, Decatur, Sulphur Springs, Maysville and surrounding rural areas.

Local vendors supporting the expected 25 volunteer presenters include the Wooden Spoon Restaurant in Gentry, and the Hard Luck Cafe and El Bohemio Mexican Restaurant, both in Gravette.

Schneider also requested that the many regular library patrons “time their visits either on Monday and Thursday that week, or after 4 p.m. on the workshop days."
