— The University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Office in Little Rock announced the following Benton County 4-H members have been named Arkansas 4-H Teen Stars for 2011-12: Lane Walls of Cave Springs 4-H; Joshua Lockhart, Town & Country 4-H; Kirby Romines, Cave Springs 4-H; Sarah Mills and Emily Pigeon, both members of Bloomfield 4-H; and Levi Bingham, Town & Country 4-H.

Lockhart, Mills and Pigeon were also named Arkansas 4-H Ambassadors for 2011-2012. Returning 4-H state ambassadors for 2011-2012 include Sayer Smith, Janee Shofner, Samantha Brandeberry, Anna Hope, Tyler Simpson and Lensey Watson.

There are 23 4-H clubs in Benton County andteen leaders are chosen based on their leadership, youth education and development, community service, citizenship,project work and 4-H promotion.

A stringent application process is followed by finalists being interviewedby a panel of judges. They are honored at a recognition banquet at the Arkansas 4-H convention center in Little Rock.
