Duane Feaster

Duane Loyce Feaster, 78, of Siloam Springs, died Sept. 5, 2011, at Regency Hospital in Fayetteville.

He was born May 22, 1933, in Gentry, to Elbert L. Feaster and Eula Rausher Feaster. He was a graduate of Gentry High School. He was an Army veteran (Military Police) serving from 1953 to 1955. He was a truck driver for Cobb Vantress until his retirement in 1998. In 1963, he married Eunice Ann Blauw. He was a Christian and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Scott Feaster and wife Deanna of Coppell, Texas, and Mark Feaster of Oakland, Calif.; one daughter, Anne Smith and husband Scott of Carroll, Texas; four grandchildren; and four sisters, Lorene Gatrell of Siloam Springs, Faye Sellers of Pensacola, Fla., Maxine Lierly and Mona Feaster, both of Tulsa, Okla.

Funeral services were Sept. 9 at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, with Kevin Rees officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Aileen Hay

Aileen W. Hay, 85, of Colcord, Okla., died Sept. 12, 2011, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital, Siloam Springs.

She was born Dec. 11, 1925, in Siloam Springs, to Joe Mason and May Lingle Mason. She lived most of her life in Siloam Springs and was a homemaker and bookkeeper at Standard Auto Parts. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Siloam Springs and the Siloam Springs Bridge Club. She married John Hay on July 17, 1950, in Siloam Springs.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Joe Mason.

Survivors include her husband, of Colcord; one son, Mike Hay of Colcord; one daughter, Karen Arnold of Colcord; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three sisters, Genevieve Hardin and husband Tom of Claremore, Okla., Willa Faye Mason and Elizabeth Berry, all of Siloam Springs; and one brother, Roy Gene Mason of Siloam Springs.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 15, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, with Steve Abbott officiating. Private burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs. Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home.

Maxine Johnston

Maxine Johnston, 78, of Rogers and formerly of Colcord, Okla., died Sept. 9, 2011.

She was born June 19, 1933, in Kenwood, Okla., to Loyd Williams and Inez Bly Williams.

Survivors include three sons, Kent and wife Betty of Rogers, and Teddy and wife Sherri of Clovis, Calif., and Kelly and wife Verna of Fresno, Calif.; one daughter, Vickie Cook of Siloam Springs; one brother; six sisters; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home of Rogers.

Calvin Long

Calvin Don Long, 49, of Gentry, died Sept. 9, 2011, at his home.

He was born Feb. 21, 1962, in Siloam Springs to Bennie Long and Frances Severn Long. He was a lifelong resident of Gentry where he was a hay farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Belinda of the home; two daughters, Kristen Long ofFayetteville, Brittany Long of Springfield, Mo.; two sons, Jonathon Long of Highfill, and Matthew Long of the home; his mother; a sister, Linda Heustis and husband J.B. of Westville, Okla.; a brother, David Long and wife Tish of Decatur.

Funeral services were Sept. 12 at Springtown Pentecostal Church in Springtown with David Long offciating. Burial followed at Springtown Cemetery. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Eddie Philpott

Eddie Alvin Philpott, 68, of Wichita, Kan., died July 30, 2011, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, in Wichita.

He was born April 17, 1943, the eighth child of Luther Rull Philpott and Alva (Morris) Philpott. He graduated from Gentry High School and attended Wichita State University, K-State and KU. He did a tour in the Navy and retired from the Wichita Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Violet, infant brother James, and brothers Eli Houston and Lee Warren.

Survivors are son, Anthony E. Philpott of Douglass, Kan., sisters Irene McFadin of Colcord, Okla., Mary Sue (Bement) Roberts and husband Roy of Perry, Kan., brother Bobbie Philpott and wife Loretta of Gentry; and five grandchildren.

Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, at Fairmount Cemetery near Gentry.

Nina Potter

Nina Lee Potter, 72, of Kansas, Okla., died Sept. 6, 2011, at St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa, Okla.

She was born Jan. 6, 1939, in Jay, Okla., to Charles Bennett and Gladys Revels Bennett. She managed DairyQueens, worked at Woodland Manor and was a home health worker. She married Zack Wesley Potter in Miami, Okla., on Dec. 27, 1956. She was a member of the Freewill Holiness Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Peggy Nichols; and three brothers, Joe Bennett, Oval Bennett and Sonny Bennett.

Survivors include her husband of the home; three daughters, Debbie Byrd and husband Roger of Kansas, Okla., Ruby Snell and husband Chug of Rose, Okla., and Beverly Davis and husband Raymond of Colcord, Okla.; two sons, Wesley Potter and wife Anna of Colcord, and Melvin Potter and wife Debbie of Kansas; 21 grandchildren; 29 greatgrandchildren; four brothers, Darrell Bennett and wife Dorothy, and Herman Bennett and wife Janice, of Colcord; Larry Bennett of Woodward, Okla., and Donald Bennett of Wewoka, Okla.; two sisters, Brenda Deason and Emma Dean Rex, of Jay.

Funeral services were Sept. 11 at the Kansas High School Gym, with O.B. Carlton and Larry Ellis officiating. Burial followed at Row Cemetery, Colcord. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Ella Walkup

Ella M. Walkup, 92, of Sulphur Springs, died Sept. 3, 2011, at her home.

She was born Sept. 6, 1918, in Walnut Ridge to Perry Asa and Essie Crotts Latham.

Survivors include four sons, Patrick R. Walkup, John H. Walkup, James R. Walkup and David Wayne Walkup; and a daughter, Judith A. Walkup Thomas.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 17, at 17036 N. Arkansas 59 in Sulphur Springs. Cremation arrangements under the direction of Epting Funeral Home of Bentonville.

Minerva Edmondson

Minerva Edmondson, 76, of Jay, Okla., died Sept. 3, 2011, at her home.

She was born June 15, 1935, in Bennington, Okla., to Parker and Vivian Lloyd. She married Jim Allen Edmondson in 1956. She was well known in Gravette and especially in the Maysville area, where she taught Sunday School for many years at the Maysville Bible Church.

Survivors include herhusband of 55 years, Jim Edmondson; one daughter, Sharon Edmondson of Jay; her mother, Vivian Vaughn of Ozark, Mo.; two grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Grady Lloyd of Ozark, Mo., and Wesley Lloyd of Potosi, Mo.

Graveside services were held Sept. 8 at Thompson-Edmondson Cemetery in Jay with Randy Kennedy officiating. Arrangements were by Grand Lake Funeral Home of Jay.
