Gravette man arrested on new charges

Meth labs found in search

— The Gravette man arrested Sept. 2 and charged with the Aug. 31 break-in at Teasley Drug was arrested a second time last Thursday, Sept. 8.

Brian Garber, 18, faces additional charges for possession of drug paraphernalia and endangerment of a minor.

Garber had been released from the Benton County Jail on bond for the first arrest.

As part of the investigation, which is continuing, a search warrant was issued for the residence at 902 Fourth Avenue SW in Gravette.

“Items thought to be taken from the burglary, as well as other illegal paraphernalia, were retrieved from inside the residence,” Gravette Police Lt. David Smith said. “During the search of theproperty, including vehicles, the back yard and storage buildings, Gravette officers discovered four separate methamphetamine labs.”

A man identified as James Gladden, 29, a next-door neighbor, was arrested on outstanding warrants from Gravette and Siloam Springs Police Departments.

According to Lt. Smith, Garber’s charge of endangerment of a minor involves an earlier incident. There were no children in the home at the time of Garber’s arrest.

Benton County Sheriff’s deputies have assisted Gravette officers in processing and cleaning up the suspected meth labs. Because no state funds are available, the estimated $1,200 cost will be borne by the city of Gravette.

Investigation of the burglary and other aspects of the cases are continuing, Smith said.
