— Voters in Gravette School District will choose a new school board member in the annual election scheduled Tuesday, Sept. 20.

Running for a five-year term on the board are Susan Santos, Jonathan Watson and John Ekstrant. All three are residents of Bella Vista, the part which is located in the Gravette School District. Marion Harris, present board member, did not seek re-election.

Brief profiles of three candidates are published in a separate story.

Polls will be open next Tuesday at the following locations:

Precincts 1,3,4,5 - Gravette Civic Center

Precincts 24,25,26,70 - Highlands Church, Bella Vista

Precincts 22,23 - Hiwasse Community Building

Precinct 2 - Sulphur Springs Community Building.

Voters will also be asked to reapprove the current 27.2 millage rate for the coming year. This includes 25.8 mills for general maintenance and operation and 11.4 mills previously voted pledged to bonded indebtedness. This is not a millage increase.

If a candidate does not receive a majority of the votes cast, a runoff election will be held Tuesday, October 11.
