Empire inspecting transmission lines

— Beginning last Friday and continuing through the next two weeks, Empire District Electric Company is completing its annual inspection of company transmission lines. The completion date for the program is dependent upon weather and wind conditions.

Aerial Patrol will survey approximately 1,280 miles of transmission lines throughout the Empire serviceterritory with a low-flying helicopter. The inspection focuses on identifying potential problems with transmission structures, hardware and conductors, with special attention given to vegetation issues.

Empire inspects transmission lines annually to identify and correct potential problems with the transmission system. This allows the company to continue safe and reliable delivery of energy to their customers.
