Meeting of Benton County Board of Education March 8th: To Consider Consolidation Petitions.

School consolidation petitions will be considered at the meeting of the Benton County Board of Education, of which W. L. Patton of Bentonville is president, on March8th. The petitions are from the school districts around Decatur and ask for consolidation with the Decatur District. All the districts have one-room schools. They are Burgin Valley, Rock Valley, Falling Springs, Word, and a section of Cottage Grove.

Patrons of the Decatur district, it is said, are interested in the addition of the proposed territory, so that Decatur may be recommended as a senior high school center by the experts of the state educational department, now engaged in making a survey of the county for the purpose of locating high school and junior high school.
