George ‘Buster’ Allcorn

George Franklyn “Buster” Allcorn, 79, of Westville, Okla., died Sept. 16, 2011, on his farm in Westville.

He was born Feb. 14, 1932, in Haskell, Texas, to Mannford and Pauline (Lee) Allcorn. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict. He was a concrete finisher by trade and a cattle farmer. He was a Christian, loved spending time with his family and watching his grandkids grow up, and enjoyed caring for his cattle and his farm.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lorna (Hansen) Allcorn; and sisters, Billie Jo Allen and Patsy Burke.

He is survived by his children, Susan Doyle and husband Gene of Stilwell, Okla., Bill Allcorn and wife Teresa of Colcord, Okla., Clay Allcorn and wife Lori of Broken Arrow, Okla., Amy Kaiser and husband Matt of Westville, and Matt Allcorn of Spiro, Okla.; one sister, Nettie Ruth Rodriguez of Keller, Texas; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sept. 20 at Roberts Chapel in Westville, with George McFerrin and Dan Collins officiating. Interment followed at Westville City Cemetery. Arrangements were by Roberts Funeral Home, Westville.

Mary Coleman

Mary Louise Coleman, 66, of Rogers, died Sept. 22, 2011, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville.

She was born May 22, 1945, in Modesto, Calif., to Everett Dixon andVenita Mahurin Dixon. She retired from Walmart accounts payable in 1998 after 33 years with the company. She was active for many years in the Bentonville Nazarene Church, serving in the children’s department and in missions. She was the local Nazarene Mission International president for several years, and served on the District NMI council for several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, baby brother Bobby Ray Dixon, and brother Everett Loy Dixon.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jim Coleman; two sons, John Coleman and wife Suzanne of Bentonville, Mike Coleman and wife Erin of Blythewood, S.C.; one daughter Paula Coleman of Centerton; three granddaughters; one brother, William Dixon and wife Charlene of Rogers; five sisters, Jeannie Robbins of Bentonville, Sandra Walker and husband Franklin of Pea Ridge; Sharon McAllister of Pea Ridge; Darlene Early and husband Johnny of Rogers, and Rhonda Patterson of Sulphur Springs.

Funeral services were Sept. 27 at Bentonville Church of the Nazarene, with Mark Snodgrass officiating. Burial was at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Arrangements were by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.

William Ferry

William B. Ferry, 98, formerly of Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich., Suttons Bay, Mich., Gravette and Bella Vista, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, at New Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center, Rogers.

He was born April 26, 1913, in Benton Township, Ill., to Charles Dexter Ferry and Katherine White Forman. He was a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a master's degree from Northwestern University. He taught music in the Grosse Pointe Public School System, retiring in 1975. He and his wife Helen moved to Gravette and were active in the square-dance and rounddance community. He was member of the Bella Vista Recorder Consort and he volunteered as stage manager of the Northwest Arkansas Symphony. An avid and talented carpenter, he built fine furniture as well as the family cabin on Lee Point Road, Suttons Bay, Mich., where the family summered.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five siblings; and his son, Wm. Brian Ferry.

Survivors are his wife, Helen Louise (Bauman); two daughters, Dawneane K. Munn of Lincoln, Neb., and Deborah Robbins of Princeton, N.J.; two grandsons; and one greatgrandson.

Memorial services were Sept. 22 at the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista. Arrangements were by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.

Edmund Dwayne Grubb

Edmund Dwayne Grubb, 83, of Siloam Springs, died Sept. 20, 2011, at the VA Medical Center in Fayetteville.

He was born Feb.15, 1928, in Decatur, to Clon Grubb and Louise Gammen Grubb. He was a truck driver with Schmeiding, Caywood and Willis Shaw trucking companies. He was an Army Veteran and member of the American Legion and the VFW, as well as the Falling Springs Church in Decatur.

He was preceded in death by his wife Fern in 2002.

Survivors include two sons, Bill Wright of Bartlesville, Okla., and Richard Grubb of Siloam Springs; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Leonard Wilson of Beaufort, S.C., and one half sister, Karen Janisch of Neosho, Mo.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at Falling Springs Church in Decatur, with Bill Wright officiating. Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Donald Peters

Donald Wayne Peters, 65, of Gentry, died Sept. 20, 2011, at his home.

He was born Jan. 15, 1946, in California. He was a 20 year Navy veteran andwas a sheet metal repairman for aircraft during the Vietnam War. He moved to Gentry from San Diego, Calif., 17 years ago. He was an assistant with the Head Start Program in Gentry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Melvin Peters, Howard Peters and Sam Peters; sisters Anna Mae Hall, Billie Nadine Adams, Bertine Byrne, Billie Nadine Adams, Sue Stinsen and Pearlina O'Hair.

Survivors include one brother, Marvin Peters and wife Sue of Gravette.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, at Springtown Cemetery, Springtown, with Mark Rotrammel officiating. Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Stephen Threeton

Stephen Louis Threeton, 41, of Rogers, died Sept. 21, 2011, at his home.

He was born May 15, 1970, in Gravette, to Louis and Nelma Threeton. He was worship leader at Glorious Grace Fellowship.

Survivors include his parents; and a sister, Carrie Williams and husband Tom of Bella Vista.

A memorial service was held Sept. 25 at Glorious Grace Fellowship, in Rogers. Arrangements were by Epting Funeral Home of Bentonville.
