Easter egg hunts set for Saturday, Sunday

Communities, churches and hospital holding special events for children and families

— Numerous Easter egg hunts are planned for this weekend, with a variety of prizes and treats for participating children.

Included in the special events are the following egg hunts submitted to the Westside Eagle Observer: Decatur Assembly of God

Decatur Assembly of God Church will host its annual community “Easter Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza” at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7, for children through age 12. There will be thousandsof eggs and candy to hunt, with prizes in every division. Ability Tree, Inc., will be providing children with special needs a designated hunting area. For questions regarding special needs, please call 373-6033. The hunt will take place on the campus of Decatur Assembly of God Church, 675 N. Main in Decatur.

Decatur Chamber of Commerce

The Decatur Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m., Feb. 7, in Veterans Park, with special prizes for each age group.

Gentry Chamber of Commerce

Gentry’s annual Easter egg hunt sponsored by Main Street Gentry Chamber of Commerce will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 7, in the Gentry City Park (on the south side). Assisting the chamber this year will be the Gentry High School National Honor Society and the Gentry High School FCCLA. There will be four age groups with separate areas to hunt: Ages 3 and under; 4 to 5; 6 to 8; and 9 to 10. About 1,000 prizes will be awarded, including bicycles. Sponsors include McDonalds, AEP/SWEPCO, Dr. Scott Stubbs, Arvest Bank and Terry Biggs.

Ozarks Community Hospital in Gravette

An Easter Eggstravaganza will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with egg hunt at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 7, at Ozarks Community Hospital in Gravette. There will be all kinds of free activities including egg hunts, egg decorating, face painting, crafts, games, food, a “bounce house” and a petting zoo. There will be a special appearance by the Easter bunny.

Community of Highfill

An Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 7, at the Highfill City Park. There will be eggs to hunt and snacks to eat.

Sulphur Springs Fire Department

The Sulphur Springs Fire Department will sponsor an Easter egg hunt for children from the Sulphur Springs area at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 7. The event will be held in the park. There will be separate hunting areas for various age children and the sponsors promise lots of fun and prizes.

City of Centerton

The city of Centerton will hold an Easter Egg Hunt will in the Centerton City Park on Saturday, April 7, starting at 10 a.m. The event is sponsored by the Centerton 4-H Club and the Living Waters Church. The community is invited.

New Life Christian Center

An Easter Egg Hunt is also planned at 12 p.m., April 8, at the New Life Christian Center in Centerton, located at 900 West Centerton Blvd., (next to the AutoZone store in Centerton).
