— Area children ages 3, 4 and 5 are invited to attend a “Hippy Madscience” outing at noon, Saturday, April 7, in Siloam Springs, sponsored by the HIPPY program, said Tawny Donell, director.

The children, accompanied by a parent, are asked to bring a sack lunch to eat at the playground at the Northside Elementary School in Siloam, where activities will be held.

Donell said “Steve the Scientist” will demonstrate science fun geared to children of that age. “It is a fun program.”

“I am a ‘traveling’ teacher and go to the home of each child once a week with lessons and learning activities,” Donell said.

Children who meet certain guidelines and are 3 and 4 years old by Sept. 1 of this year are eligible to enroll in HIPPY in the fall, the director added. Children presently enrolled will be continued in the program.

Information is available at Gravette, Decatur and Gentry elementary schools.

To reach the school in Siloam go south on Highway 59 to Cheri Whitlock Drive, just north of the Siloam Springs airport, turn right and continue to Mt. Olive Street, turn left and continue to Elgin Street, turn right to the school.
