— Gravette’s Lady Lions softball team ran their undefeated season record to 11-0 with five big wins during the past week. They toppled Pea Ridge, Gentry, Siloam Springs, Jacksonville and Searcy in a display of strength as they head into the final conference challenges.

The Lady Lions blanked Pea Ridge 4-0 in a no-hitter performance by Shyanne Nichols last Tuesday. The Lady Lions had 11 hits during the contest at Pea Ridge.

On Thursday the team picked up another conference win with a 6-1 victory over Gentry at Pop Allum Park in Gravette.

Last Friday, March 30, Gravette came up with a non-conference 6-5 win over the Siloam Springs Lady Panthers at Siloam and on Saturday Gravette’s ladies picked up two big non-conference victories in games played at Farmington.

In a runaway contest Gravette overwhelmed Jacksonville 14-1 and came back to win a seesaw 5-3 contest over the ladies from Searcy.

Conference play was to resume Monday of this week when the girls were to go to Ozark, followed by a non-conference game at Greenland Tuesday. They will tangle at Farmington on Thursday, entertain Rogers-Heritage at 4 p.m. at Pop Allum Park Friday and next Tuesday travel to Gentry.

The season will be winding down to the conference tournament which begins April 27, the regional tournament April 30 and state tournament May 11, a repeat goal for Coach Taos Jones for his fired up Lady Lions.
