Boling honored for years of service

— Danny Boling, a rural mail carrier at the Gravette Post Office, was honored recently for his years of service and safety record while serving rural patrons in the Gravette area.

Al Alexander, senior manager of post office operations at Fort Smith, made the presentation in recognition of his 30 years of service and for his million mile safety record.

Alexander said, “This is an enviable record and one which I really enjoy making the presentation. Boling received a plaque and special pin marking the occasion for his 30 years of service driving without a preventable accident.”

Boling mentioned several rural carriers who mentored him when he began his duties, among them, Joe Fair, Morris Shanklin and Arnold Murray.

“The last 20 years have gone pretty fast,” he said, as he complimented his fellow postal workers, “They’re the best personnel I’ve seen.”

Danny is a native of the Hiwasse area and was a football player at Gravette High School, where he graduated.

His wife Becky was present for the brief ceremony, along with Gravette postmaster Gerald Garner and several local postal workers.

Cake and punch were served to mark the occasion.
