Last week 'mixed bag' for Gravette ball teams

— The past week was a “mixed bag” for Gravette High School ball teams. The Lady Lions softball squad took an impressive 10-1 win over Greenland last Tuesday when Lindsee Labreque allowed just one hit in the lopsided win.

The following day, traveling to Ozark, Gravette came home on the short end of a 1-8 game. On Thursday a trip to Farmington saw the Washington County girls take a 7-0 win, and last Friday Rogers Heritagecame to Pop Allum Park and went home with an 8-6 extra-inning win. Gravette had jumped to a 5-1 lead, but Heritage came back and forced the extra inning and then scored three runs in the eighth.

This Tuesday, Gentry comes to Gravette; Berryville comes to Gravette on Thursday; Gravette goes to Prairie Grove next Monday and the Lady Tigers return the favor in Gravette on April 19

In boys’ action, the Lions just weren’t able to connect when they traveled to Ozark, where they lost a9-0 decision last Monday. Stilwell, Okla., came to Gravette Tuesday evening and took a 12-7 victory back to Oklahoma.

The Lions lost to Farmington 10-1 last Thursday and Shiloh took home an 11-1 victory Monday night at Pop Allum Park.

Gravette goes to Bentonville April 10; Berryville comes to Gravette on April 12; Gravette goes to Prairie Grove April 19 and Fairland ends the regular season here April 23.

Conference tournament action for both boys and girls starts Friday, April 27.
