Pickup truck stolen in Decatur recovered in Cherokee, Co. (Okla.)

Pickup truck's occupant arrested on outstanding warrants from Benton Co. and from Oklahoma.

— A pickup truck stolen from the parking lot of the Dollar Store in Decatur was recovered in Cherokee County, Oklahoma.

The red 1994 Dodge Ram pickup was stolen on March 18, according to a report from the Decatur Police Department. The truck was owned byJoe Tusinger. Tusinger’s granddaughter Heather Stewart drove the truck to the Dollar Store with Duel Walker, III.

Walker told police he intended to stay in the truck while Stewart was shopping in the store but left the truck when she motioned for him to come inside. Walker said he did not realize Stewart had left the keys in the truck.

Stewart’s purse, containing $25 cash, and their dog, a red dachshund, was stolen along with the truck.

Stewart and Walker told Decatur officer Larry Fiedorowicz, who investigated the theft, that they saw a woman wandering around the parking lot. A DollarStore employee said the woman had been looking in her vehicle as well.

Fiedorowicz found that both the Dollar Store and the EZ Mart next door captured surveillance footage of the woman Stewart and Walker described, along with a male subject.

The truck was recovered on March 31 by the Cherokee (Okla.) County Sheriff’s Office.

Mark Anthony Fox, 47, was in the truck when it was located, and he was arrested on outstanding warrants from Oklahoma and from Benton County, according to the report.

The dog was not recovered, and no information about it was available, the report stated.
