'Romeo and Juliet' will be coming to Gravette High on April 14, 15

— Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” coming to Gravette?

That’s right. Well, sort of. “Romeo and Juliet” will be presented Saturday evening, April 14, at 7 p.m. and again at a 2 p.m. matinee the following day, April 15, at the Gravette High School Performing Arts Center.

Directed by Ian Galloway, the GHS drama class has been engrossed in the production in which you’ll see Shakespeare “like you’ve never seen it before,” Galloway declared.

The setting is Verona. The time is now. And all of the emotions, love, hate, dancing, fighting, forgiveness, vengeance and passion will fill the stage.

“The teenagers are going crazy,” the director said.

Sayer Smith as Romeo and Rachael Morris as Juliet will be joined by the following cast members: Ashley Brinkley as FriarLawrence, Stephanie Dillon as the Nurse, Jacob Singleton as Capulet, Whitney DeWitt as Benvolio, Jordan White as Mercutio, Rebecca Morris as Lady Capulet, Chris Northcott as Paris, Connor Houtchens as Tybalt, Zak Heald as the Prince, Clay Hawkins as Montague,

Shyanne Nichols as Samson, Deserae Fisher as Gregory, Kyndra Meeker as Balthazar, Cody Robinson as the Apothecary, Ashton Yarbrough as Peter, AmberNorthcott as Friar John, Jacquelynn Janes as Lady Montague, Aaron Eddy as Abram, Ross Shimer as the Page, Travis VanOtterloo as Petruchio and Chase Brody, Kyle Bilderbeck and Carson Pollreis as the Watchmen.

Galloway said music will be performed by Ripped Pigeon.

Admission tickets are $5 ($4 for group purchases of five or more). They are available at Gravette High School or may be purchased at the door.
