GENTRY — Lorene Gatrell, born April 9, 1915, to Eb and Eula Feaster, recently celebrated her 97th birthday.
She grew up on a small farm near Gentry and has five younger siblings, Faye, Maxine, Virgil (deceased), Mona Lee, and Duane (deceased).
She married Eldorus McRoy Gatrell on March 22, 1933. The couple had four children, Dean, Kendall, Dorsa and Terry. Her husband died May 30, 1974. She has eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She is the great-granddaughter of Simon Sager, the first settler in Siloam Springs (Sager Creek wasnamed after him).
She enjoys her church family at Landmark Baptist Church, likes to embroider and travel with her children. She is well known for her pies which are enjoyed by all.
