Store will soon close

DECATUR — L&L Farms, Inc., of Decatur, will be closing the Decatur General Store.

"After a great deal of deliberation and consideration, we have regretfully come to the decision to close the store," said a spokesperson for L&L Farms.

The store, opened by Lloyd Peterson, has been in operation in the same location since 1981.

Georgia Poultry-Hog Slat will occupy a portion of the existing store and continue to offer highquality poultry equipment andpoultry-related hardware and plumbing supplies. The remainder of the store will be sold or leased. A firm date for the transition has not been established.

"Peterson Farms remains dedicated to the Decatur area and we intend to maintain or possibly even expand our existing poultry operations," said Blake Evans, president and chief executive officer of Peterson Farms, Inc.
